Beauty and the BOD

For those of you who have been on this journey with me from the very beginning and know what this title means - thank you. Your support has meant more to me than you will ever know. This WILD ride of entrepreneurship and life has thrown me many strikes and at the same time so many home runs. Having you here to cheer me on, dust me off and push me forward has been integral to my adventure. There is no question I would not be here without you. A million times over, thank you.

For those of you who are new here - yay - welcome!

Please allow me to reintroduce myself!

I wrote Beauty and the BOD - a health, food, and fitness blog every single day for five years. The blog first launched in 2012 - aka the dark ages pre instagram! I loved writing it and I am so excited to be back at it.

So why did I stop blogging?

Initially the goal for Beauty and the BOD was to launch my business - the BODsquad - which it totally did. After 900+ posts I reached a point where the blog was way too much to handle and not fun anymore. I remember feeling the need to pour myself a glass (or a bottle) of wine just to get something out! Very counter to the healthy recipe advice I was giving - everything in moderation!

And here is the thing about blogging - it is NOT as easy as it looks! To write a blog properly is a massive undertaking. A single post can easily take multiple hours to write and edit. This also might come as a shock - but I am totally camera shy! Being in front of a lens really did not and does not come easily to me. It has taken me years to get more comfortable with getting my picture taken. I do it because I know it is so important for my business, and first and foremost I will always define myself as an entrepreneur. So lights camera - here I go again action!

The other thing about blogging is - it got intimate. I shared a lot about my binge eating days in high school and connected online strangers to my most personal relationships. There was a ton of support and also some backlash - which I totally know happens in all successful ventures but it was still a lot to take on. I now look back and laugh at some of the negative comments. I'll never forget my very first post ever was about a cereal that I liked and the attack from another friend of a friend health professional who said I would be better off eating the box for nutritional value went VIRAL. There were 100s of comments on a cereal post. I cried! All over breakfast. Now I've had a few years and grown a much thicker skin!

I have missed blogging big time. I have missed you big time!

I am SO excited to be back on this platform. It feels so authentically me - hence the new name

I would LOVE to hear your feedback on this website and any suggestions you have for my blog. I am wide open to everything.

Please follow me on Instagram for announcements and more.
